Blencowe Delivers Strong Deep-Hole Graphite Results in Uganda

Blencowe Resources reports strong deep-hole graphite results at Orom-Cross in Uganda, confirming scale, high grades, and long-term growth potential.

Blencowe Resources has announced a new set of robust deep-hole drilling results from the Beehive deposit at its flagship Orom-Cross graphite project in Uganda, reinforcing confidence in the project’s size, continuity, and overall graphite quality. The latest assay data highlights thick, high-grade graphite intersections that begin close to surface and remain open at depth, underscoring the long-term development and expansion potential of the asset.

The most recent drilling campaign delivered particularly strong outcomes from two deep holes. Hole L237B intersected 93.98 metres grading 6.03 percent total graphite carbon, while Hole L239B returned an equally impressive 95.45 metres at 5.62 percent total graphite carbon. Importantly, graphite mineralisation was encountered from near surface in both cases, which is favourable from a future mining and cost perspective. The fact that both drill holes remain open at depth suggests that the mineralised system extends further, offering clear upside for resource expansion as drilling continues.

These results further demonstrate the strong scale and geological continuity of the Beehive deposit, confirming it as a key contributor to the broader Orom-Cross development strategy. The consistency of thick, high-grade intersections supports the company’s objective of positioning Orom-Cross as a potential supplier of higher quality graphite end products, particularly suited for downstream industrial and energy-related applications. This comes at a time when global demand for premium graphite is accelerating, driven by growth in electric vehicles, battery storage, and advanced manufacturing sectors.

Blencowe Resources has also highlighted that a large volume of additional drill results remains pending, which could further enhance the project’s scale. Ongoing drilling activity, combined with funding discussions, is expected to deliver regular news flow through 2026. Collectively, these developments point to a clear pathway for continued growth, with the Orom-Cross project increasingly emerging as a strategic graphite asset.

From a broader perspective, sustained exploration success at Orom-Cross could have positive implications for Uganda’s mining sector and the wider African graphite industry. The advancement of a large, high-quality graphite project supports regional economic development, infrastructure investment, and job creation, while strengthening Africa’s role in supplying critical minerals to global clean energy and industrial supply chains.

Mini-Glossary

  • Assays: Laboratory tests used to determine the concentration of valuable minerals in rock samples.
  • Total Graphite Carbon (TGC): A measure of the percentage of graphite contained within the rock, used to assess grade.
  • Mineralisation: The process or occurrence of minerals being concentrated in a rock formation.
  • Open at depth: Indicates that mineralisation continues beyond the deepest point drilled, suggesting further exploration potential.
  • Downstream applications: Industrial uses of a mineral after initial extraction and processing, such as battery materials or advanced manufacturing.
